44° Paladino d’Oro SportFilmFestival – Regulation/Regolamento
Art. 1 – ORGANIZERS
The Paladino d’oro Sport Film Festival (SFF) is organized by Toros Centro di Comunicazione Visiva, that nominated yearly a Movie Commission to select the best films focused on sports. The Festival is directed by Roberto Oddo.
Art. 2 – PURPOSE
The SFF wants to promote the values of sport (respect for rules, fair play, overcoming limits, team play, etc.) through the best films all over the world that are focused on sports. The “SFF promotes the diffusion of sport films that, in different ways, contribute to the development of artistic and cultural trends in the cinema business. The goal is to promote the best quality in sports films; to stimulate, thanks to the mass media and the partnership with schools and universities, the interest in sport and cinema, fostering didactic-cultural meetings.
Art. 3 – WHEN AND WHERE (Sport Movie Week)
The 44st Paladino d’oro SFF will be held in Sicily from November 2024. The festival program includes film screening, meetings with productions, conference and awards ceremony. The SFF ends with the awards ceremony (Grand Gala). During the Grand Gala the prize named “PALADINO D’ORO” will be assigned to the best films in competition; the direction can be assign some special “PALADINO D’ORO” to the most important figures of movie and sports.
Art. 4 – ELIGIBILITY
All films produced between 2020 and 2024 with sports or non-sports subjects, already published, distributed or previewed, can participate in the festival. Films that have already participated in the SFF are excluded.
Art. 5 – REGISTRATION
The registration is active between the December, 2024, the registration deadline to June 30th, 2024.
If by June 30th, 2024, the registered productions do not comply with all the requests of the organization, they will be automatically excluded. To complete the registration, after completing the online form, producers must send the following material no later than June 2023 to: production@sportfilmfestival.it:
– 1 copy of the movie file in HD MP4, to download, with subtitled in Italian or English;
– a 2-minute (max) file of the trailer in HD MP4, to download, with subtitled in Italian or English;
– a summary (synopsis) of the film in English and Italian.
– a bio film of the director and / or the main actors, in English and Italian ;
– a good resolution poster
– the Regulations Form, printed, completed and signed, for the free use of all the material provided for publications, for the Official Catalog, for the Press Office and for the promotion of the SFF.
– The payment of 50 euros for the secretarial expenses contribution by bank transfer, to: TOROS CCV – Via Olivella, 32 – 90100 Palermo – IBAN: IT60X0306909606100000164071. Or with paypal with paypal to robertooddo9@gmail.com. If the film’s documentation is incomprehensible or incomplete, the film will be excluded from the SFF.
Art. 6 – SELECTION
The Sports Cinema Academy, has foreseen a first selection among all the films entered, if in order
with the registration (art. 5), All selected films are invited to the festival. The Sports Cinema Academy will assign the nominations, the communication will take place by 31 August 2024. A second selection, for the assignment of the nominations, which provides for the mandatory presence of a production representative at the award ceremony (art. 10) , the productions will have to confirm the presence of a representative by 30 September 2024.
All the selected films are invited to the festival, the organization will pay for a stay for two people in B&B hotel formula for the night of the final on November, 2024. The Golden Paladin is awarded by the Sports Cinema Academy, made up of illustrious personalities cinema, journalism and sport. Here are the prizes awarded in each edition. Four main categories: Best Film, Best Olympic Film, Best Paralympic Film, Best Football Film and Best E-Sport Film. The awarded sections are for best feature film, best short film, best documentary, best fiction, best direction, best actor, best sports protagonist, best editing, best screenplay, best sound, films are also awarded with special prizes: social prize, “Vito Maggio” prize, the “Altro Cinema” prize (non-sporting subject) and the “School & University” prize. All nominated films will receive an award during the final ceremony of the festival.
Art. 7 – SOCIAL AWARD
The “Social Award” (Best Trailer) is the only “Paladino d’Oro” awarded by the public. All the trailers of the films selected by the Management will be published on the official website and on the official social pages of the Festival. The winning trailer will be the one with the most views on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, the final total of all views will be counted on 30th October , 2024, views obtained after this date will not be valid. Art. 8 – SCREENING OF CANDIDATE FILMS
The films that have been nominated and that will be present at the festival with at least one production representative at the award ceremony will be screened at the festival, the screening billboard will be published on October 30, 2024, on the official festival website. Films not represented at the festival during the ceremony will not be screened.
Art. 9 – UTILIZATION OF PARTICIPATING FILMS AND COPYRIGHTS
The films will be used by the festival exclusively for cultural ends and promotional ends of the SFF, before, during and after the SFF, also in collaboration with Public authorities, private society, media, schools, universities, etc. For a further promotion, the participating films can be shown during other events. They cannot be supplied for other uses without the expressed authorization of the producer. Who enters his/her film to the festival declares him/herself owner of it according to this Regulation and undersigning the Regulation, he/she authorizes:
the maximum distribution of the film (it means that it’s not subjected to any right or to other compensations);
the vision of the film by the delegates, accredited journalists, observers, pubblic etc.
the deposit, in SFF’s archive, of the copies of the film only for study, as documentation and for institutional activities.
The participants will directly be responsible for any demands or claims of reimbursement by third parts, as they have entered their films to the SFF. The TOROS CCV has the right to use the names of the participants to the Festival for its own promotional activity.
Art. 10 – GENERAL RULES
The productions of the selected films will have the right to hospitality in a hotel for one night in a B&B (November, 2024) for two people indicated by the film production, on the occasion of the awarding ceremony of the Golden Paladins on November, 2024, at the Theater and their transfer to and from the airport, further stays will be paid for by the film productions. The productions that will not be present at the final ceremony will not be entitled to any prize. Any disputes and anything not covered by this regulation will be governed exclusively by Italian law. The final decisions are the responsibility of the Festival management. For any complaint relating to the meaning of the articles of these Regulations, only the original text in Italian of the Regulations published on the official website of the Paladino d’Oro Sport Film Festival will be the basis for any dispute.
Art. 11 – UPDATES
The TOROS CCV reserve the right to make decisions on matters not specified herein. The CCV can change this Regulation at any time and without notice.

Regolamento in Italiano
Art. 1 – ORGANIZZAZIONE
Il Paladino d’oro Sport Film Festival (SFF) è organizzato dall’Associazione Toros Centro di Comunicazione Visiva. La direzione artistica del Festival, nomina ogni anno l’Accademia del Cinema Sportivo, che seleziona, assegna le nomination e i premi ai migliori film a soggetto sportivo e non. Il Festival è diretto da Roberto Oddo.
Art. 2 – OBIETTIVI
La SFF vuole promuovere i valori dello sport (rispetto delle regole, fair play, superamento dei limiti, gioco di squadra, ecc.) attraverso i migliori film di tutto il mondo incentrati sullo sport. La “SFF promuove la diffusione di film sportivi che, in modi diversi, contribuiscono allo sviluppo di tendenze artistiche e culturali nel mondo del cinema. L’obiettivo è promuovere la migliore qualità nei film sportivi; stimolare, grazie ai mass media e alla partnership con scuole e università, l’interesse per lo sport e il cinema, favorendo incontri didattico-culturali.
Art. 3 – QUANDO E DOVE (Settimana del cinema sportivo)
Il 43° Paladino d’oro SFF si terrà a novembre 2024. Il programma del festival prevede proiezioni di film, incontri con le produzioni, conferenze e premiazioni. Lo SFF si conclude con la cerimonia di premiazione (Gran Galà). Durante il Gran Galà verranno assegnati i premio denominati “PALADINO D’ORO” ai migliori film in concorso; l’Accademia del Cinema Sportivo può assegnare i “PALADINO D’ORO” speciali ai personaggi del cinema, dello sport, dell’editoria e del giornalismo.
Arte. 4 – AMMISSIBILITA’
Possono partecipare al festival tutti i film prodotti tra il 2020e il 2024 a soggetto sportivo o non, già pubblicati, distribuiti o in anteprima. Sono esclusi i film che hanno già partecipato al SFF.
Art. 5 – ISCRIZIONE
L’iscrizione è attiva dal mese di dicembre 2023 termine di iscrizione al 30 giugno 2024.
Se entro il 31 luglio 2023 le produzioni iscritte non dovessero ottemperare a tutte le richieste dell’organizzazione, verranno automaticamente escluse. Per completare la registrazione, dopo aver compilato il modulo online, i produttori devono inviare il seguente materiale entro giugno 2023 a: production@sportfilmfestival.it:
– 1 copia del file del film in HD MP4, da scaricare, con sottotitoli in italiano o inglese;
– un file di 2 minuti (max) del trailer in HD MP4, da scaricare, con sottotitoli in italiano o inglese;
– un riassunto (sinossi) del film in inglese e italiano.
– un film biografico del regista e/o degli attori principali, in inglese e italiano;
– un poster di buona risoluzione
– il Modulo Regolamento, stampato, compilato e firmato, per l’utilizzo gratuito di tutto il materiale previsto per le pubblicazioni, per il Catalogo Ufficiale, per l’Ufficio Stampa e per la promozione del SFF.
– Il versamento di 50 euro per contributo spese di segreteria tramite bonifico bancario, intestato a: TOROS CCV – Via Olivella, 32 – 90100 Palermo – IBAN: IT60X0306909606100000164071. Oppure con paypal con paypal a robertooddo9@gmail.com. Se la documentazione del film è incomprensibile o incompleta, il film sarà escluso dal festival.
Arte. 6 – SELEZIONE
L’Accademia del Cinema Sportivo ha previsto una prima selezione tra tutti i film iscritti, se in regola
con l’iscrizione (art. 5), tutti i film selezionati sono invitati al festival. L’Accademia del Cinema Sportivo assegnerà le nomination, la comunicazione avverrà entro il 31 agosto 2024. Una seconda selezione, per l’assegnazione delle nomination, che prevede la presenza obbligatoria di un rappresentante della produzione alla premiazione (art. 10), le produzioni dovranno confermare la presenza di un rappresentante entro il 30 settembre 2024.
Tutti i film selezionati sono invitati al festival, l’organizzazione pagherà un soggiorno per due persone in formula hotel B&B per la notte della finale del 25 novembre 2023. Il Paladino d’Oro viene assegnato dall’Accademia del Cinema Sportivo, composta da personaggi illustri del cinema, del giornalismo e dello sport. Ecco i premi assegnati in ogni edizione. Quattro le categorie principali: Miglior Film, Miglior Film Olimpico, Miglior Film Paralimpico, Miglior Film sul Calcio e Miglior Film E-Sport. Le sezioni premiate sono per il miglior lungometraggio, il miglior cortometraggio, il miglior documentario, la migliore fiction, la migliore regia, il miglior attore, il miglior protagonista sportivo, il miglior montaggio, la migliore sceneggiatura, il miglior sonoro, i film sono inoltre premiati con premi speciali: premio sociale, ” Vito Maggio”, il premio “Altro Cinema” (soggetto non sportivo) e il premio “Scuola & Università”. Tutti i film nominati riceveranno un riconoscimento durante la cerimonia finale del festival.
Art. 7 – SOCIAL AWARD
Il “Social Award” (Best Trailer) è l’unico “Paladino d’Oro” assegnato dal pubblico. Tutti i trailer dei film selezionati dalla Direzione saranno pubblicati sul sito ufficiale e sulle pagine social ufficiali del Festival. Il trailer vincente sarà quello con il maggior numero di visualizzazioni su Facebook, Instagram e YouTube, il totale finale di tutte le visualizzazioni verrà conteggiato il 30 ottobre 2024, le visualizzazioni ottenute dopo questa data non saranno valide. Art. 8 – PROIEZIONE DEI FILM CON NOMINATION
I film che sono stati nominati e che saranno presenti al festival, con almeno un rappresentante della produzione alla cerimonia di premiazione saranno proiettati al festival, il cartellone di proiezione sarà pubblicato il 30 ottobre 2024, sul sito ufficiale del festival. I film non rappresentati al festival durante la cerimonia non saranno proiettati.
Art. 9 – UTILIZZO DEI FILM PARTECIPANTI E COPYRIGHT
I film saranno utilizzati dal festival esclusivamente per fini culturali e promozionali del SFF, prima, durante e dopo il SFF, anche in collaborazione con Autorità pubbliche, società private, media, scuole, università, ecc. Per un’ulteriore promozione, i film partecipanti potranno essere proiettati durante altri eventi. Non possono essere forniti per altri usi senza l’espressa autorizzazione del produttore. Chi iscrive il proprio film al festival ne dichiara proprietario ai sensi del presente Regolamento e sottoscrivendo il Regolamento stesso autorizza:
la massima distribuzione del film (significa che non è soggetto ad alcun diritto o ad altri compensi);
la visione del film da parte di delegati, giornalisti accreditati, osservatori, pubblico ecc.
il deposito, nell’archivio della SFF, delle copie del film solo per studio, come documentazione e per attività istituzionali e promozionali del festival.
I partecipanti saranno direttamente responsabili di eventuali richieste o pretese di rimborso da parte di terzi, in quanto iscritti al SFF con i loro film. La TOROS CCV si riserva il diritto di utilizzare i nominativi dei partecipanti al Festival per la propria attività promozionale.
Art. 10 – NORME GENERALI
Le produzioni dei film selezionati avranno diritto all’ospitalità in Hotel per una notte in B&B (novembre 2024) per due persone indicate dalla produzione cinematografica, in occasione della cerimonia di premiazione dei Paladini d’oro (novembre , 2024, presso il Teatro e il loro trasferimento da e per l’aeroporto con navette organizzate, ulteriori soggiorni saranno a carico delle produzioni cinematografiche. Le produzioni che non saranno presenti alla cerimonia finale non avranno diritto ad alcun premio. Eventuali controversie e quanto non previsto dal presente regolamento saranno regolate esclusivamente dalla legge italiana. Le decisioni finali sono di competenza della direzione del Festival. Per qualsiasi reclamo relativo al significato degli articoli del presente Regolamento farà fede esclusivamente il testo originale in lingua italiana del Regolamento pubblicato sul sito ufficiale del Paladino d’Oro Sport Film Festival.
Art. 11 – AGGIORNAMENTI
Il TOROS CCV si riserva il diritto di prendere decisioni su questioni non specificate nel presente documento. Il CCV può modificare il presente regolamento in qualsiasi momento e senza preavviso.
